Ease the Burden of Parenting with Simple Baby Hacks

By: aBaby

Not to say that parenting is a burden in the traditional sense of the word, but it can definitely get incredibly overwhelming sometimes, especially for new parents. In fact, even parents who have 2 or more children have their hands full because each child is unique and needs to be cared for and taught in a different way.

So without further ado, here are some simple baby hacks that can make caring for your little one a little less stressful.

1.Breast Milk Pacifiers

Another genius idea! For teething babies who want to chew on everything, especially mommy’s breasts, these pacifiers are the best solution. Express your milk and fill up an ice tray with it. Stick pacifiers in and allow the cubes to freeze completely. Offer these to the baby when he is in discomfort. They soothe the gums while also providing nutrition and saving mommy from extreme agony. You can find some really cool pacifiers online.

2.Petroleum Jelly for Diaper Rashes

This is a great game to play if you have a party with lots of kids.

Did you know that petroleum jelly is a miracle worker when it comes to a diaper rash? Diaper rashes are uncomfortable and can have your baby in a sour mood. Some diaper rashes are downright stubborn and refuse to leave for days. What’s worse is every time baby poops or pees, it aggravates the rash and fuels it even more. Petroleum jelly creates a barrier between baby’s skin and babies poop/pee, allowing the rash to heal quickly without constant aggravation and friction from the diaper itself.

3. Baby Proof with Pool Noodles

Who says you have to spend a fortune of baby proofing kits? Cut up pool noodles are a great and cheap way to baby proof your home. Stick them on the edge of doors so that your baby’s fingers are protected if the door should close on them. You can also put them on the corners and edges of tables to prevent your toddler from walking into sharp corners or bumping his head on the hard edge of a table.

4.Pool for a Play Pen

Babies who have just learned to crawl can get themselves into all kinds of predicaments. You will be surprised at how quickly they can get from one corner of the room to the other. Use an inflatable pool as a playpen for a baby. Put him in with some cushions and toys and keep him occupied for a while. Use this time to make lunch or take a shower (leave the door open and baby in sight!). It is perfectly safe and will teach the baby how to balance as well.

5. First Things First, Get Your Hands on a Bjorn

This one is a bit of an obvious one but trust me, it is one of the most essential baby care products for new mothers. New mothers are already sleep-deprived and being cooped up in the house with the baby all day won’t do either of you any good. So strap on your Bjorn with baby comfortably inside and take an evening stroll every now and then. This will also allow you to take the baby with you everywhere you go, giving you your independence and helping you maintain your sanity!

6. Baby Shower Caps

These are a wonderful creation. A lot of babies develop a phobia towards showers and panic when water gets on their face. This eventually leads to them fussing before and during bath time which can get incredibly frustrating for the parent. This shower cap is a great tool to wash the baby’s hair without water getting into his eyes. This will make your bath time with baby a lot more manageable.

Please remember, even with all the parenting hacks in the world, parenting is not something that you can breeze through. It will require your complete heart and soul, twenty-four hours a day and seven days a week. Sometimes it will make you want to pull out your hair. But if done from the heart, even if you make a million mistakes, (which you will) it can be the most rewarding job in the world.
